Here's some info on registering for the website regarding the textbook.
To register, go to
http://wps.aw.com/wps/media/access/Pearson_Default/5632/5768114/login.html
or just google "media 10e" (and select the 1st result), and follow the steps to register.
You'll need an Access Code to complete this.
If you've purchased the Media Update 10e copy of the textbook, the code is included there.
If you have any other edition of the text, that's fine. You can purchase the Media Update without the book online:
https://register.pearsoncmg.com/reg/buy/buy1.jsp?productID=34427
This is only $30, and includes an e-copy of the book online.
However, be aware. Homework problems Zack assigns from the text will correspond to 10th Edition. If you use an older version, you'll need to look at the e-copy to find the correct problem.
You'll also need the class number to register, which is:
Class ID: cm799640
If there are any questions with this, whatsoever, please post them, as you can be sure you're not the only one having the same problem.

It appears that the $30 does not include ebook access. To get the ebook along with the tutorials, quizzes, etc., it costs an additional $56.80. However, the ebook is free if you have a media update code from a NEW--not used--Media Update 10e copy of the textbook.
ReplyDeleteAre others also finding this to be true?
Caitlin - Hmmm, that's unfourtunate.
ReplyDeleteI'll speak to Zack about how to resolve this, but I know that he does want to be able to assign textbook problems for homework, so that extra $56.80 might be necessary. At least that's much less than the price of a new copy of the text.
The online homework isn't always recorded for me. Is anyone else having this problem? also, I would really like to attend the study session for the homework thursday evenings, however I cannot make it due to my work schedule. should I meet with prof/ta during office hours? or does anyone else have scheduling errors as well so that we can make a different homework session?
ReplyDeleteEmily - The only issue with the homework that I'm aware of is that you must click the "Q", to exit the tutorial with the scores recorded.
ReplyDeleteIf there is enough interest in either changing the homework session time, or creating an additional session, that's fine with me. The problem is finding a room that is large enough.
well i tried to do my online work for hours or more like tried to register and it didnt work (access code) any suggestions
ReplyDeletejurrramir - if you purchased a used copy of the text, and the access code has been used before, then it won't work again.
ReplyDeleteif that's not the issue, I'm not sure what it could be. It would be helpful if you could post exactly what it is telling you.
